What is OR Integration?
Definition of an Integration System

The OR is a complex environment featuring general lighting, laminar flow systems, clinical record portals, and installed medical equipment like surgical lights, operating tables, ceiling-mounted systems, and video cameras. Each device can share status, usage, and alarms, receiving commands to adapt as needed.

An integration system allows multiple devices to communicate with each other by translating various inputs and formats into a unified language.

In the OR, this system interconnects all equipment and is managed through a single control interface.

From a single panel in is possible to manage the complexity of an OT room.
Integration Components
Integration starts with devices predisposed to accommodate multimedia connectivity, ensuring scalability. Advanced configurations include surgical lights with cameras, systems for video and audio visualization, recording, and content sharing. At its highest level, integration enables full interconnectivity between lights, other OR devices, and hospital information systems via intuitive touch interfaces. See the diagram below.

Control & Command: Maximize Your OR’s Efficiency
In a surgical environment, precise and intuitive control of devices is essential. RIMSA surgical lights are designed to offer various control options, adapting to the needs of each facility.
Basic control is performed via the handle positioned on the light head, allowing the adjustment of essential lighting parameters and some camera functions. For more comprehensive control, wall panels or wireless remotes are available.
For facilities requiring advanced management, RIMSA offers full integration solutions. Through a tablet, PC, or touch panel placed directly in the operating room, the light and camera can be remotely controlled, centrally managing lighting and multimedia parameters.
RIMSA provides three integration modules, each offering different functionalities, from basic management to full device integration in the operating room. To find out which module meets your needs, contact us for personalized consulting.

Benefits of OR Integration
A well-designed integration system transforms the operating room into a connected, efficient, and highly functional environment. Thanks to the interconnection between devices, it is possible to easily manage lights, cameras, monitors, and other medical instruments through intuitive interfaces such as touchscreens or tablets. This centralization simplifies workflows, improving surgical precision and reducing operational time.
The integration allows for recording, streaming, and sharing video images in real-time, promoting training, clinical comparison, and remote monitoring. Additionally, access to patient data directly from the integrated system ensures greater security and awareness during procedures. Equally important, remote control helps optimize resources and reduce clutter in the operating room.
With modular and scalable solutions, the system adapts to the specific needs of each facility, ensuring compatibility with devices from different manufacturers. Ultimately, an integration system not only enhances efficiency and safety but also creates an innovative operational experience, focused on the future of surgery.
